10 Best Photo Spots in Antalya

This is my first guide with some of the best photo spots in Antalya. I recently moved to live in earthly heaven Antalya Olympos, Türkiye. Just to clarify, Turkey actually changed their name earlier on 2022. It is now officially Türkiye. Antalya is beautiful and if you’re a traveler or photographer like me, there were so many stunning locations for pictures. An instagrammers dream! Let’s get into it!

1- Aspendos 

Aspendos Amphitheatre is 1800 years old structure is one of the best-preserved amphitheatres and it really takes your breath away.  The way the light shines through the around the amphitheatre is incredible. You can easily spend an hour or so here taking various shots. Simply beautiful. If you’re planning to go Aspendos you can book a photo session to took some of shots for you.

Aspendos has a definitely on the list of places to visit in Antalya, Turkey. It is claimed to be the best preserved colossal Roman archeological site in the world.

Timings: You can visit afternoon to catch amazing sunset.
How to reach: You can rent a car, travel by bus or become a part of pre-designed tours.

2- Old Town (Kaleiçi)

Old town, known as Kaleici, is  perfect to live and explore the simple antiquated ambience. Old town is beautiful part of city with a small marina. A peopled-place before, it is now adorned with lavish boutique hotels, engaging art galleries, tiny souvenir shops and exotic restaurants.

Kaleiçi has perfectly restored whitewashed and Ottoman style mansions line the cobblestone streets, now home to a lots of boutique hotels, souvenir shops, art galleries, coffees and restaurants.

3- Hadrian’s Gate

Hadrian’s Gate (Üçkapılar, meaning “The Three Gates”) is a triumphal arch located in Antalya, Turkey, which was built in the name of the Roman emperor Hadrian, who visited the city in the year 130. It is the only remaining entrance gate in the walls that surround the city and harbor.

Hadrian’s Gate is One of the most important monumental Antalya tourist attractions, this gate was once used as the main entrance to the Kaleici town.

4- Kurşunlu Waterfalls

The Kurşunlu Waterfall (Turkish: Kurşunlu Şelalesi) is located 19 km from Antalya, Turkey at the end of a 7 km road branching off to the north of the Antalya-Serik-Alanya highway at a point 12 km east of Antalya. It is reduced to a mere trickle in the summer months.

5- Konyaaltı Beach

The beach is located on the west side of the city and stretches for 13 km primarily composed of fine pebbles and has some sand. The water is beautifully clear. Konyaaltı Beach has “Blue Flag” status, which confirms the good water quality. It is bound inwards by the beach park and numerous bars, cafes, nightclubs and hotels.

The beach is patrolled by Life guards. The free of charge changing rooms and the showers are available for all visitors on the beach.^[3]

6- Çıralı and the Chimera

The twin villages of Olympos and Cirali have a special place in the list of places to visit in Antalya. While Olympos has a reputation of being a party-goers heaven, Çıralı is more of an easy-going relaxing vacation. A perfect combination of beaches and historic ruins has been achieved by this glorious attraction.

As well as the ruins, the famed attraction here is the chimaera, a naturally occurring eternal flame that flickers out of the rocky cliff above.

According to the mythology this fire, burns brightly at night at this site, is related with the fire-breathing Chimera.

Location: The near-twin villages of Olympos and Çirali, about 84 kilometers southwest of Antalya, sit on a piece of lovely coastline near the overgrown ruins of the ancient Lycian city of Olympos.

How to reach: Buses and private taxis run from Antalya

Çıralı has unique nature with timeless trees surrounding. You can see the snow of amazing Tahtalı mountain from the Çırali beach. Çıralı is one of the best photo spots in Antalya.

7- Phaselis

Phaselis (Turkish: Faselis) was a Greek and Roman city on the coast of ancient Lycia. Its ruins are located north of the modern town Tekirova in the Kemer district of Antalya Province in Turkey.

Location: It lies between the Bey Mountains and the forests of Olympos National Park, 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) south of the tourist town of Kemer and on the 57th kilometre of the Antalya, Kumluca highway.

8- Perge

Perge was originally an ancient Lycian settlement^[b] that later became a Greek city in Pamphylia. It was the capital of the Roman province of Pamphylia Secunda, now located in Antalya.

It was the birthplace of the Greek mathematician Apollonius of Perga, one of the most notable mathematicians of antiquity for his work on conic sections.

Location: Perge ruins lie 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) east of Antalya.

9- Saklıkent

Saklıkent National Park established on June 6, 1996, is a national park in southwestern Turkey.

The canyon is 300 m (980 ft) deep and 18 km (11 mi) long, being one of the deepest in the world. It was formed through abrasion of the rocks by flowing waters over thousands of years. As the level of water rises during winter months, visitors can enter the canyon all year around only the deeper parts in the summer. 4 km (2.5 mi) of the canyon are walkable after April,

Location: The national park is a canyon, and is located in Muğla Province, at Seydikemer, 50 km (31 mi) far from Fethiye. The Canyon is 65 km from Kaş in the Antalya province.

10- Olympos

Olympos in Antalya is the best choice for those who prefer a peaceful holiday instead of crowded beaches and all-in hotels. Besides its beautiful beach, pristine nature, tranquil atmosphere and ruins of the ancient city, never ending Chimera Fire is another good reason which makes Olympos a very popular destination.
